Beyond Meat Beyond Burgers Drop Price To $1.60 A Burger

Next Monday, June 22nd Beyond Meat is launching their Beyond Burger Value pack at retailers nationwide bringing the price of a Beyond Burger down to an incredible $1.60 per patty!

The “Cookout Classic value pack will contain ten vegan plant-based burger patties just in time for the grilling season and the 4th of July.

The “limited edition Cookout Classic” pack will be carried by Target and Walmart along with many other “select retailers” across the United States.

Beyond Meat said in the press release:

“With growing consumer interest in plant-based protein, the Cookout Classic value pack is designed to inspire a shift to plant-based meat at barbecues and summer gatherings. The juicy and delicious burgers are made with simple, plant-based ingredients without GMOs, soy or gluten, and are packaged in a fully recyclable cardboard carton, aligning with Beyond Meat’s commitment to sustainability.”

“This forward-looking pricing represents an important milestone along our journey to make Beyond Meat more accessible to all consumers.” CEO and founder of Beyond Meath Ethan Brown commented alongside the press release.

According to the most recent SPINS data, in the 4-week period ending May 17, 2020, Beyond Meat was the #1 brand in refrigerated plant-based meats and owned the top four selling items in all of the plant-based meat market.

Their simple GMO, soy, and gluten-free Beyond Burgers are made with basic plant-based vegan ingredients like pea protein, mung bean protein, and rice proteins. The burger even “bleeds” as you cook it.

Beyond Meat says that the Beyond Burger creates 90 percent fewer greenhouse gasses, 99 percent less potable water and takes less than 93 percent of the land of a comparable burger like the Mc Donald’s quarter pounder.

Along with the environmental friendliness aspect, it’s also healthier than a traditional “beef” burger patty containing less saturated fats and no cholesterol since that only comes from animal products.

In addition to the “Cookout Classic” value pack, the company is looking to increase consumer access to plant-based vegan meats through several initiatives.

“To further engage consumers on the benefits of plant-based meat, Beyond Meat launched the Why Go Beyond content series, a compilation of personal stories from celebrity ambassadors and friends that uncovers why they have made the choice to shift their diets toward plant-based. Through these videos, Beyond Meat is inspiring people to see that the positive choices they make, no matter how small, can have a great impact on personal health and the health of our planet.”

Other initiatives to increase the brand’s reach and affordability nationwide include a new Beyond Meat online store that will ship directly to consumers much like what Impossible Foods have launched recently after the FDA relaxed it’s rules.

Impossible Foods’ site ships to the lower 48 states for free so it’s likely Beyond Meat will follow suit against their competitor.

Through July 4th there will be further discounts on Beyond Meat products using promotions at retailers including Kroger, Publix, Albertsons, Whole Foods Market, Shoprite, Giant Foods, and Stop & Shop.

Beyond Meats stock has done incredible since the launch of the new IPO that destroyed the record for the last twenty years for the launch of a new stock. I suspect these new price changes will push the stock up further if all goes well.
